June 2017 - PresentThis year I initiated a campus wide basic necessities drive to benefit women’s homeless shelters in the city of Philadelphia. The drive has been going on since early November 2017 and recently concluded in late January 2018. Members of my organization and I personally made and delivered the donations in the form of care packages. By working with and communicating with dozens of pre-health-related organizations, I spearheaded the planning and execution of the first ever inter-university Pre-Health Conference hosted by Drexel AMWA. The conference was held on January 13, 2018 and was directed toward anyone interested in the field of medicine whether they are pre-medical, pre-PA, pre-nursing, pre-PT, pre-dental, pre-vet, etc. The conference was oriented around the path to becoming a healthcare provider, with a specific focus on the struggles women and minorities may face within the field of medicine. Along with the help of my fellow board members, I was responsible for tasks such as securing funds, contacting keynote speakers and panelists, and marketing the event.
